De nombreux vestiges rappellent la presence armenienne dans les villages autour de Elazig, anciennement appelle Kharpet.
Armenian protestant church of Elazig is used as a car park next to a market place. 100 years after the Armenian Genocide, the descendants of the survivors of the massacres still live in Anatolia. Many relics remind the Armenian presence in the villages around Elazig, formerly called Kharpet.
